From 24 to 26 November 2026, Valencia will host for the first time an event that will bring together professionals, companies, government bodies and the scientific community \u2014both national and international\u2014 to share advances, build alliances and shape the future of mine and quarry restoration. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today we take another step forward with the launch of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ciremconference.com\">official website<\/a> which will serve as the central hub for all information related to the Congress. It will address key 21st-century challenges: global restoration standards, geomorphological design, technological innovation, biodiversity, governance, nature-based solutions and the social role of mining in the ecological transition. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the Spanish Network for Mine and Quarry Restoration (RMC), which is promoting the event, this Congress is much more than a technical gathering: it is an opportunity to consolidate a shift in the model that is already underway.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSpain is at a decisive moment to become an international benchmark in mine restoration. CIREM 2026 was born to strengthen that path, connect knowledge, and showcase real solutions that are already transforming the sector,\u201d says Javier de la Villa Albares, president of the RMC.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Technical director Beatriz Olmo Gilabert highlights that the Congress will also serve as a platform to showcase the collective work carried out in recent years. \u201cThe most valuable aspect of CIREM is that it will bring together all the key stakeholders: government, industry, science and territory. It is a forum designed to listen, learn and debate with technical rigour and a strong impact-oriented approach. Mine restoration needs common standards, applicable innovation and an integrated vision, and this Congress is the place to drive it forward.\u201d <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the support of universities, leading companies and partner organisations, and a broad international presence expected, CIREM 2026 is consolidating itself as the first major forum in Spain entirely dedicated to mine restoration.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The official website is now live, featuring the provisional programme, participation modalities and initial instructions for authors, attendees and sponsors.
